About
Claire Sua & THIS SPACE

Based in New York, I do digital marketing and content creation. This blog is a space where I share my daily life, gut-friendly recipes, wellness journeys, or reviews on products. It used to be a space where I shared ethical fashion tips and brands, and while those posts still will be here and I talk about it from time to time, I’ve come to the point in my life where I simply just stopped buying shit. It’s partly because I’ve become super frugal and I have this mentality that’s like: “why would I give money to a big corporation instead of saving it for myself"?

My new dream right now is to buy property, have my own farm and do martial arts outdoors and live comfortably. To me, luxury is not in what I have, but the freedom to live with ease and without pressure in this society — to be able to be who I am if I didn’t have to earn money. I’m sure many of you relate. The paradox behind that is that in order to get to that place, I need money (which is the stage I’m in right now).

With that, I’m always looking for ways to maneuver through this modern world of consumerism, the lack of regulation that goes into the production of goods, the foods that make us sick, and what it is to be well, especially incorporating my Korean-American experience.

East Asian medicine is often viewed as “not-yet proved” and it’s often mystified and exoticized in America. I believe that if we view wellness through the sole lens of American science, it’s a huge disservice to our wellness. There are so many practices from varying cultures (think: ayurvedic, TCM, etc.) that stem from thousands of centuries ago — In my opinion, American science is experimental, and the East Asian practices I speak about are empirical, and have been proven & perfected throughout the years. It’s something I’m still learning as well and it’s that perspective that improved my gut health.

This physical, mental, and emotional journey of wellness is what I’m sharing with you all.
