I Have This Warm Rose Matcha Collagen Every Morning As A Preventative Aging Measure

Since the start of Spring…

… I’ve been switching from having my Korean ginseng tea to this rose collagen matcha. It’s partly because I wanted to incorporate more collagen into my diet and also partly because I’ve been busy with work and needed some sort of caffeine in the mornings.

Luckily, rose, matcha, and collagen are all known to help give your skin a boost, especially because rose and matcha have a ton of antioxidants. Antioxidants are great at helping prevent signs of aging. Along with collagen, this is a great way to consistently take care of your skin.

I also drink this warm and not cold because having cold drinks in the morning is not great for you according to East Asian traditional medicine. It disrupts your digestive system, because more work on behalf of your body is needed to break down your food. I’ve also learned from my grandmaster that it causes your body from the inside to be too tense.

The taste of the rose is very strong, and the rose itself is also super fragrant, so you can definitely taste the floral sweet taste with your matcha.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons of matcha (I buy mine in bulk for savings)

  • 1-2 scoops of collagen (I typically use Vital Proteins collagen, but Great Lakes Wellness collagen has gifted me theirs and I’ve been trying it out and noticing similar results)

  • 1 whole-flower rose tea from The Qi (Again, buying in bulk is much cheaper per flower. You can also steep 1 flower up to 3 times).

  • Milk of choice (I drink cow milk — get over it! It has more calcium)

Directions:

  • Steep the whole-flower in hot water until the color becomes slightly red-orange. Watch it bloom! Wait until it cools to about 170 degrees Fahrenheit (If hotter, it will kill the matcha benefits)

  • Steam milk of choice

  • Scoop your normal serving size of collagen and matcha into a mug, add enough rose water to dissolve the powders, and stir until matcha clumps are gone and collagen dissolves.

  • Pour in milk. Break off rose petals and add for aesthetics if desired. (You can also drink the rest of the rose tea later on in the day — it has so many health benefits!)
